How to edit or remove CNAME Record in cPanel using the DNS Zone Editor?

You can edit or remove CNAME Record from cPanel using the cPanel DNS Zone Editor which allows you to manage, remove or modify DNS records.

1. Log into your cPanel account. (eg: www.example.com/cPanel )
2. In the “Domains” section, click on the “Zone Editor” Icon.

Under “Domains”, you can see many options below the “Actions” text.

3. Click on “Manage” and the DNS records will be loaded on page.

4. Locate CNAME Record you wish to edit or remove. Should you wish to edit a CNAME record, click the “Edit” option, modify the details and then click on “Save Record”. Removing a record can be done with the “Delete” option.

Note: It may take anywhere from 12 to 24 hours for the changes to take effect worldwide.

How to Restore cPanel Backup?

1. Log into your cPanel account.
2. In the “Files” section, click on “Backup Wizard” Icon.

3. Under “Backup/Restore” text, click on the “Restore” button.

4. Under “Select Restore Type”, choose the appropriate option.

5. Click on “Browse”, select your backup file from your PC, and click on the “Upload” button.

How to generate a cPanel backup and sent to FTP Server?

1. Log into your cPanel account.
2. In the “Files” section, click on “Backup” Icon.

3. Under “Full Backup”, Click on “Download a Full Website Backup” button.

4. From Dropdown menu, Select Backup destination to “Remote FTP Server”, In Email field enter your email address.

Remote Server: FTP IP address or FTP domain name like ftp.example.com,
Remote User: Your FTP Username
Remote Password: Your FTP Password
Port: 21 or other FTP Port
Remote Dir: Remote Directory like /home/username/backupfolder/

5. Once you fill in the Remote FTP details, click on the “Generate Backup” button.

How to generate and download a full backup of your cPanel Account?

1. Log into your cPanel account.
2. In the “Files” section, click on “Backup” Icon.

3. Under “Full Backup”, click on the “Download a Full Website backup” button.

4. From the dropdown menu, select the backup destination as “Home” and enter your email address in the e-mail field so that you can receive notification when the backup is complete.

After the cPanel backup is completed, you will receive notification and the backup will be available for download under the “Backups Available for Download” list on the Full backup page.

How to Download Backup of Home Directory, MySQL or E-mail Only?

1. Log into your cPanel account.
2. In the “Files” section, click on “Backup Wizard” Icon.

3. Under “Backup or Restore” text, click on the “Backup” button.

4. In the 2nd step “Full or Partial Backup” option, under “Select Partial Backup”, you need to click on “Home Directory” to download home directory only or should you wish to download only “MySQL Databases”, click on “MySQL Database”.

5. Now click on the “Download” link/button.
