How to enable boxtrapper in cPanel?

BoxTrapper requires all email senders who are not on your whitelist to reply to a verification email before you receive their mail. This protects your inbox from spam.

If you want to get rid of unwanted emails then you can enable this on all your emails or only on selected emails and you need to configure BoxTrapper.

1. Login to your cPanel Account,

2. In the “Email” section, click on “BoxTrapper” Icon.

3. From the BoxTrapper Page you can see a list of your emails under the “Account” tab and the status of BoxTrapper (enabled/disabled) under “Status” tab. Click on the “Manage” Link.

4. On the BoxTrapper Manage Page, if the current status is “Disabled”, click on the “Enable” button.

Apache SpamAssassin is a mail filter that identifies spam. It is an intelligent email filter that uses a diverse range of tests to identify unsolicited bulk email, more commonly known as spam. These tests examine email headers and content to classify email with advanced statistical methods.

1. Login to your cPanel Account,
2. In the “Email” section, click on “Apache SpamAssassin” Icon.

3. Click on the “Enable Apache SpamAssassin” button.

Now, when you receive a spam message with spam score of 5 or more, the spam email will be automatically removed by Spam Assassin.

How to Create Account Level/Global Email Filter in cPanel to Fight Spam?

It’s hard to completely stop spam e-mail but you can filter it, discard it, deliver it to selected folder, etc.

1. Log into your cPanel account.
2. In the “Email” section, click on “Global Email Filters” Icon.

3. Click on the “Create a New Filter” button.
4. Enter a name for the filter in the Filter Name text box.

5. In the rules of the filter you can filter e-mail by many options, and should you want to deal with e-mail which contains a word like “Lottery” or other words, then select “Contains” under the “Rules” list, select “Body” from the dropdown list and from the 2nd drop down list.

6. Under “Actions” list select “Discard Message”.
7. Now Click on the “Create” Button.

5. Click on the “Delete” button.

6. Now click on the “Delete Filter” button to remove your filter.

How to Create Email Account in cPanel?

To create a new email address, perform the following steps:

1. Log into your cPanel account.
2. In the “Email” section, click on “Email Account” Icon.

3. Enter the email address that you wish to create, such as “my-first-email”. (If you manage more than one domain, select the appropriate domain from the menu.)

4. Enter your new password or use a password generator.

5. Change the quota or leave this as it is and then click on the “Create Account” button.

Once your email account is created, it will appear under the “Account & Domain” tab.

How to change the password of your email account?

If you want to change password of your email account then you can do this by the following steps:

1. Log into your cPanel account.
2. In the “Email” section click on “Email Account” Icon.

3. Scroll down to the “Account @ Domain” section and you should see your email account listed there.

4. If your email address is server@example.com, you should see a “Change Password” text in front of your email. Then simply click on “Change Password”.

5. Enter your new password or use a password generator
6. Click on the “Change Password” button.

Congratulations, your email password has been successfully changed and now you can access your email using your new password!
